  YEARBOOK COVER DESIGN CONTEST - DEC 19
Yearbook Committee Members Also Needed! Students - Think you have a creative bone? Then send us your artwork for this year's yearbook cover! There will be one design selected for the cover, but all designs will be considered for inclusion within the yearbook itself. You must drop off your submission by Friday, December 19th, at the school office.

Guidelines can be found on the Yearbook page, or you can contact the Yearbook committee.

The Yearbook committee is also looking for 6-8 members (comprised of 4th & 5th graders) who would like to participate in creating the yearbook this year. For more information, please download the application here.
  MILES AHEAD RUNNING CLUB - JINGLE BELL RUN FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19TH
Ready, Set, Run for your special Holiday token (available to all runners with 5 miles) before school starts.
  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Ms. Rogers, our Art Teacher, needs volunteers to help secure the painted fish on the fence by the playground. The project includes taking down the fish and securing them with zip ties. If you can assist, please contact Ms. Rogers
  USED CLOTHING NEEDED IN HEALTH OFFICE
Gently used pants or sweat pants (with elastic bands), shirts, undergarments and socks are needed. All sizes for student at Torrey Pines Elementary are requested. Pleae drop off any donations to the Health Office.
  PARENT SAFETY AMBASSADORS URGENTLY NEEDED
TPES Parents are invited to join a newly formed Parent Safety Patrol to complement the work of the TPES Student Safety Patrol!

The group will be working with San Diego Police Officer Filley, who will be offering safety best practices that will be implemented in January. If you want to be pro-active and make safety and efficiency a priority during drop-off and pickup times, please consider being an Ambassador. Commitment is only one a week.

The La Jolla YMCA offers camp during the holidays for working parents. Thanksgiving camp information can be found here. Sign your child up at the YMCA office.

Did you know that you can raise money for TPES just by registering your Vons and Ralphs cards and shopping with these merchants? It's super quick and easy to start for your everyday purchases to make a difference at TPES. Here's how:


Vons/Escrip
  • Email your Name, Phone Number & Vons Card to School Coordinator Noemi Lavoie, who can set up your account (valid if you are registering for the first time).
  • Go to the Escrip homepage to register and sign up your Vons or your cash/credit cards online.
  • You can also shop at over 700 popular merchants and earn money for TPES by starting your online shopping at the Escrip Online Mall
  COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION WEEK - 12/8-12/14
Has your child completed an 'Hour of Code?' Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to get interested in computer science.

TPES encourages parents to inspire students to learn more by joining millions around the world for an 'Hour of Code' this week. Have your child spend an hour alongside 'Frozen' and 'Angry Birds' characters to create their own digital masterpiece. There are tutorials for all ages, including for parents and teachers. The 'Hour of Code' doesn't end this week, it's just an impetus to start a wonderful journey in programming!

All families with enrolled students at Torrey Pines Elementary now have access to the Foundation site. Please check your email for a confirmation email. For gmail accounts, TPES-related communications may be going into the 'Promotions' folder and NOT in your Inbox. Please take a moment to take a look. If you are still not receiving emails, please contact our Communications team asap.

To receive E-Twig communications, you must have submitted a TPES Foundation form. If you have not already completed a form, please download the TPES Foundation Form here to obtain login access to the website, school directory and to sign-up for our electronic newsletter. 

TPES parents who are having difficulty logging on can reset their password on their login screen or can follow up with our Webmaster at tpeswebmaster@gmail.com.
