Hello to our many new and returning families. I’m Karen Krampe and it is my honor to be Torrey Pines Elementary School Foundation President for 2013 -2014 school year. We have a wonderful and giving community here. For me it is like a family reunion with lots of cousins, some I’ve never meet and others I can’t remember their name.
The TPES Foundation is a non-profit organization, our version of a PTO or PTA, all are volunteers. Every parent and guardian at TPES is automatically a member of the foundation. You belong and are a member.
Why do we need a foundation? Federal and state education funding provides the “basics” to our
children. As parents, we work with school administration to create the best learning environment and opportunities for our kids.
The Foundation, through your time commitments and funds provides: Physical Education (PE), Art instruction and supplies, Music, technology instruction, literacy program, math enrichment, support teachers and so much more. Think about it, without the Foundation these programs would not exist at TPES. Get involved by volunteering. We have both short term and long term opportunities. Let us know your availability and expertise or desire and we will be happy to use your help.
Stay in the know by checking the website, reading the weekly e-newsletter and reading the bi-monthly e-magazine.
Welcome to the TPES family, I look forward to meeting you.
